Rakuten Symphony has expanded its maritime cybersecurity offering through tie-ups with Cydome Security Ltd. and Lattice Inc., extending protection across the full vessel lifecycle from design through to operations.

The move, announced in Tokyo, broadens the Rakuten Maritime platform to cover both IT and operational technology (OT) systems on newbuilds and existing fleets – a segment long seen as under-protected.

By integrating Cydome’s technology, the platform will deliver fleet-wide cyber protection, including real-time threat detection and compliance with major regulations, while enabling “zero-touch” deployment across diverse vessels. Meanwhile, Lattice’s YardGrid system brings structure to complex ship design data, using AI to reduce errors and improve decision-making at the construction stage.
