Plug and Play has partnered with the Nigerian Institution of Marine Engineers and Naval Architects to accelerate the development of Nigeria’s maritime sector into a globally competitive innovation hub.
Announced in Singapore, the tie-up will establish a dedicated maritime and energy innovation platform, connecting Nigeria’s ecosystem with global networks, capital and technical expertise. Central to the initiative is the creation of a startup pipeline between Nigeria and Singapore, enabling technologies to be tested and validated before scaling into the African market.
“By partnering with NIMENA, we are creating a trusted bridge between global innovation ecosystems and Nigeria’s maritime & energy sector,†said Jupe Tan, managing partner, APAC at Plug and Play.
The programme will provide startups with mentorship, pilot opportunities, investor access and commercialisation pathways, while also addressing structural gaps such as fragmented stakeholder alignment and limited funding pipelines.
